Linkage was involved in the design and implementation of the VIA van, an electric delivery vehicle. We worked closely with the VIA team to transform their vision into a feasible design, providing concept modeling and A-surfacing services to help bring this program from a concept to a finished vehicle.

IDEATION
To begin the VIA van project, we started with VIA’s initial vision concept and worked to create a design that incorporated the correct specifications and aligned with the engineering data. Our team struck a balance between capturing the essence of the vision and ensuring technical accuracy, resulting in a design that met both aesthetic and functional requirements.
CONCEPT MODELING AND A-SURFACING
Using CAD refinement, we began building a design over the engineering data, continually modifying the surfacing throughout the process to ensure alignment with the initial vision model.
Our team produced the A-surfacing of the VIA van, providing VIA with the necessary data to create a functional prototype. The A-surfacing was meticulously aligned with all the engineering specifications to ensure that the resulting prototype was functional and met all necessary requirements.
VISUALIZATION
To help determine the final result of the VIA van, our team utilized 3D visualization tools, including VR technology and digital equipment. This allowed us to visualize the design in full scale and make any necessary adjustments before moving on to creating a physical prototype.
